In Australia we do the holidays differently from the rest of the world: We favour a more laid-back approach. This usually means a day spent out in the sun, cooking up a barbie, hanging by the pool, and a uniform of singlets, shorts, and thongs. But there’s one holiday tradition we did keep from our European friends, and that’s a love for all those merry decorations.

1. Wall Christmas tree

Living trees shrivel up in the scorching heat and take up a lot of space. One RV-friendly option is a Christmas tree for the wall. There are plenty of store-bought options, but the beauty of this style is that you can easily make one yourself with what you find outside and around the RV. This also makes for a great crafting activity with the kids!

2. Christmas linens

Pick a colour palette, change up a few throw pillows, and bring out the festive napkins. Linens can transform the mood of your space and are easy to fold away and flat-pack.

The humble fairy light is a Christmas staple. Whether you want to go all out or take a more subtle approach, there is a style for everyone. Most Christmas lights are battery operated so they’re great for adding some mood lighting without draining your RV’s power.
