SEEKRLIFE FEATURE: Life Of a Travel Family

Meet Mindy and Spencer and their 7-year-old daughter Nyah as they travel full-time around Australia and the world! For the past four years, they have chosen a life of travel after quitting their day jobs and selling their home. Choosing time together over money. We caught up with them to ask them a few questions about this lifestyle and how it’s working for them.  

Where are you right now? How did you get here? 

We are travelling around the Queensland coast, chasing the sun and enjoying our days by the beach. We are also using this time to move slowly and get to know our new bus and figure out the new set up.

Tell us about yourself. Why did you choose your lifestyle? How long have you been at it? 

We are a family of 3 that have always prioritised travel but officially hit the road as full- time travellers 3.5 years ago. We initially thought we would do one year but we fell completely in love with the slow life and so figured we would keep going. Our daughter was only 3 when we set off and the greatest gift that this lifestyle has given us is the ability to spend every day watching her grow up. 

Tell us about your rig. How long have you had it, how much distance have you put on it, where have you taken it? 

We are currently travelling in a 2012 Mitsubishi Rosa bus and we are loving it so far. Our previous set-up was a LWB Mercedes Sprinter, which was incredible, but as our daughter grew, we felt the need for something a little bigger this time around. With the extra space, we have added an indoor shower, which is a complete luxury. We plan to live and travel in this bus for at least the next two years, but who knows what the future holds, right?

How did you learn about SEEKR? What product(s) of ours do you have onboard? How’s it working out for you? 

We are massive fans (hahah) of the Sirocco fans and honestly would never do a build without them. We have five installed into our build, which we use EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. We have strategically placed the fans around the bus to create perfect airflow to help reduce the heat. 

What’s next on your adventure checklist? Any plans for the near future? Distant future? 

We are very much the “go with the flow” type of travellers, but our rough plan is to spend the winter up north and then slowly head south and then make our way over Western Australia for the beginning of 2024. Who knows after that?
