Our marine fans are low-voltage fans that do not plug into the grid; therefore, they do not require CSA or UL certifications.
The body of each fan is made from plastic. Depending on the fan, the plastic used may be FR ABS or ASA. The blades are made of polyethylene.
No. Our fans are not 'ignition proof' certified or tested. In an engine room, there is always the risk of having fuel and hydrocarbon fumes. For this reason, we do not recommend our fans be used in this environment. Our fans use a brushed motor, with an expected brush life of 5000 to 7500 hours. Operating the fans 24-hours will wear the brushes in a shorter time frame than the normally expected duty cycle.
Yes! The 747/757 Ultimate Fans, 817 Kona or 7482 Maestro Fan would be suitable.
The Sirocco II fan is equipped with a brushed motor.
Yes. Please turn off the power to the fan before cleaning. A vacuum can clear the fan of any dust build-up, and a dry cloth may be used to wipe the surface. Do not use gasoline, thinner or other harsh chemicals to clean the fan, as this can damage the motor and the plastic.
The Sirocco II fan must be mounted. The fan has a backing plate that can be affixed to the mounting surface using six #6 fasteners/screws.
The Sirocco II features a long life motor with low-power draw, and is designed to function for 5000+ hours.
The gauge of wire required for installation is 22AWG.
Yes, you can mount it horizontally or vertically. It should not cause the fan to make any excessive noise.
The dimensions of the Sirocco II are approximately 9.5" W x 3.75" L x 12.25" H (241.3mm x 95.25mm x 311.15mm).
When stowed flat, the fan measures 3.8" (97mm).
Please ensure that you choose a speed setting after the calibration. If the unit does not start spinning automatically after calibration, please get in touch with our Customer Service Team. Each time the power is disconnected from the fan, it will re-calibrate.
The amp draw for the Sirocco II Fan is as follows;
Yes. You will need to remove the back motor cover plate and switch the wires around on the back of the motor. No soldering is involved as the wires attach to the motor with clips. This should fix the problem and keep both fans wired to the supply line.
The CFM for each speed setting are as follows;
